Confirm the appliance is yours to remove

Check serial numbers or lease records when the unit contains business, rental, or inherited property. Separate anything that must be returned to an owner or supplier before loading day.

If the appliance came from another property, do not assume it was properly disconnected before storage.

Empty and dry it

Remove food, ice, water, lint, trays, racks, and loose accessories. Defrost refrigerators and freezers early enough for them to dry. Standing water and mildew can change what handling is appropriate.

Leave doors safely ajar during drying, then secure them for transport with a reusable strap or other method that will not damage the finish.

Arrange safe disconnection

Water, gas, and hardwired electrical connections should be handled before pickup by someone qualified for that work. A hauling appointment is not a substitute for appliance service.

Report damaged cords, refrigerant concerns, oil, leaking fluids, or swollen batteries in smart devices before scheduling.

Check the dolly route

Measure the appliance and the narrowest doorway. Note thresholds, ramps, elevators, and long corridors. Confirm the facility allows the appliance and the hauling vehicle to move through the selected route.

Send the unit size, largest items, and access notes. The crew confirms the estimate before loading.
